Flame shield ready!

Even though I hate the term "sellout", there are some people who really fit the bill. One such person is the Nostalgia Critic.

I used to find him really funny, and many of his old reviews are excellent. But then his show got canceled, and then it was uncanceled. For a while the new reviews were good too (The Last Airbender review is one of my favorites). But now, the show's gone through the dreaded Seasonal Rot. His character is getting to be too much of a jerk. I know he was always a jerk, but it used to be that he would try to find something nice to say about the bad movies he reviewed. Now he just complains to hell and back. He's also acting a lot ruder and he's spouting off opinions that are clearly his own rather than his character's. He's also started to make more misogynistic and homophobic comments (and this is AFTER he apologized to his fans for making homophobic jokes in the past).

The first sign of this was the dreaded Sailor Moon review, where he clearly failed to research the show. Granted, he's always been known for this (like saying that Doug Funnie was in high school when the show clearly says he's in sixth grade). But all the stuff he said in the review wouldn't make sense to anyone who watched it. (The jailbait jokes definitely didn't help.) And then he started relying on Malcolm and Rachel for all his humor, the skits not even being funny, and Doug's biases being really blatant.

And want to know the kicker? He recently reviewed Jurassic World while it was still in theaters. You can't call yourself a nostalgia critic when you're reviewing a movie that's still in theaters! Then again, he's been reviewing movies that only came out a few years ago, so I guess this isn't surprising.

I wish we could have the old Nostalgia Critic back instead of this psychotic, sexist, biased, egotistical jackass. I think fame has really gotten to his head. Doug Walker is clearly detached from the real world and I'm beginning to think he cares more about money than making good entertainment. I think he should throw in the towel and cancel his show for good.
